Goals, intentions, dreams, plans....
A few years ago I decided to stop using the word resolutions and use one of the above instead. I never stuck to my resolutions, but I can definitely get motivated by a good goal. After some serious thought I've gathered a list of goals, intentions, dreams and plans for 2009.
Calendar made with the January Work in Progress Project Kit
First off, being a Mommy. Or rather a Mummy. But if the babe wants to call me Maman, I'll live with it. I must confess the entire idea is now starting to scare me, but I'll deal with that as things develop!
I'm dipping my toes into the Project 365 waters again, but taking a new approach. Right now I am committing to a photo a day for January and I have already started that project here on flickr.
More professional blogging. Be it guest posts on other sites, or writing regular articles on other blogging networks. Not necessarily in the area of scrapping or crafting either. I love to write, I've always wanted to write, and this year I will get serious about it. Just putting that one out there in the universe. :)
Keeping the house clean and continuing to organise and decorate. Over the last week, since we really got it together, Lucas and I keep telling each other how nice it is to have a clean and uncluttered place, and how we really have to keep it that way. Over the next few weeks we will be dealing with the smaller organisational details, and also getting the babe's room ready!
Staying on top of the laundry. This is one goal from 2008 that I dropped the ball on and so has rolled over into 2009. With a new family member it won't get any easier! I do have an idea on how I can do this, I really hope it works. I want to move from having one large laundry basket, to one that is divided into three or four load sized bins. Just need to find the right basket that will fit our limited space.
Speaking of limited space, a big goal for this year will be to move. We can manage until the babe is around three or four months old, but after that I think we will seriously be getting on each other's nerves!
Another big goal will be going home (Grenada and Barbados) for Christmas 2009. Baby boy needs to feel the Caribbean Sea on his toesies as soon as possible!
Pay myself first aka build up our savings. This will help towards that trip home!
Creatively I want to continue what I've started so far and really build upon that foundation. I'm keeping the details of this close to my chest for now, but one area I will be pursuing strenuously this year will be teaching classes, both online and at stores.
It feels good to write this down, and put it out there! Have you made a similar list?
