I needed a simple way to keep Kieran's football (soccer for those of you stateside) stored and out of the way. I've long loved this simple upcycled market bag by Pascale from //Between the Lines//, and it seemed like the perfect thing. before I got around to attempting it, I then saw this totebag tutorial , and then this one, and decided to combine the three ideas to make the perfect football bag.
I laid out the tank top inside out, with the side seams in the middle like so
Then folded the left side over and cut out a rounded shape at the bottom
I opened up the shirt again and stitched up the bottom with a double zigzag stitch
Then marked the cutting lines, making sure to leave an area uncut for the base
Then I cut the slits using my rotary cutter and voila!
Now I can hang the bag up and don't have to try to find a space for the ball in Kieran's toy box or bins!
What are you waiting for? Go upcycle something!
