{Giveaway} One Seat to True Scrap II

I am so excited today! You probably saw my earlier post where I announced that this event was upcoming. Now here are all the details!

True Scrap II: The Spawn is the second issue of an online scrapbooking event, October 20-22, 2011, produced by Lain Ehmann.  With a lineup including Noell Hyman, Jennifer McGuire, Nic Howard, Renee Pearson and 13 more teachers, yours truly included, plus a keynote interview from Cathy Zielske and five make-and-takes (virtual, of course), this event will rock the scrapbooking world!

I was quite honoured when Lain asked me to be one of the teachers this time around! My class will be all about using spray inks. So if you want to learn more about adding an inky touch to your work be sure to check it out! Here is a little sneaky peeky

I promise I won't be getting all wild and messy on you! The class is really targeted at those who want to use inking and misting techniques to enhance their current style, or those who may already have some inks but aren't sure where to start. 10 Things I Will Miss About Living in Lyon

1. Spending time with my dear, dear, dear friend Lucy and her family. Happily our new house is less than 30 minutes drive from their weekend place, so we will still get to hang out often!

2. Going to see the giraffes at Parc de la Tete d'Or, and the park in general.

3. How easily accessible everything is by metro amd tram

4. The Flea Market

5. The 3 times a week neighbourhood market

6. Our favourite park to take Kieran to play

7. Storytime at La Biblichausette

8. Vieux Lyon, which is a geat place to take photos.

9. The Fete des Lumieres in December

10. The Annual Salon de Vignerons Independents (wine fair)

{The Lake} Just an Added Bonus

We found out yesterday that this gorgeous location is a mere 10 minutes drive from the new house. I was already excited by the idea of the few larger lakes close by, but this pushed me over the edge!

And Kieran definitely seems to agree.

{Organise This!} Moving Binder

In an attempt to keep on top of everything that is going on with our move and not lose my mind, I came up with a moving binder. Nothing fancy, I just purchased a 2 ring binder from the stationary store, and made a few printables of To Do lists such as : Moving Preparations, Change of Address info, as well as sections for storing the moving company information, and information about the new house.I bought a bright yellow binder in the hope that it won't get lost in the current chaos that is my home.

The last time we moved it was a total disaster. Kieran was only 5 months old and not sleeping through the night, so we were tired, disorganised and still packing boxes on the day of the move. I refuse to go through that again. I remember almost bursting into tears when we finally got to the new place that night to find that all the furniture and boxes had been packed into the living room, and there were no bulbs in the sockets, making it impossible to find anything.

This time we have professional movers, and my head is on right, so I am making sure to make note of the little things, like bulbs, that will make a huge difference to how moving day ends. Especially since this time we are moving much further away.

Of course, this doesn't mean that I won't want to throw my head back and scream in frustration at some point in the process. This is moving after all, and we all know how frustrating that can be!
