I've already talked about my One Little Word for 2011 which is thrive. Today I want to tell you how I plan to put my word into action. Last February I had an epiphany and decided to start making a monthly goals and plans layot to help me stay on top of things. I managed to make a layout for eight out of the 12 months of 2010.
Here's a look back
1. Feb, 2. Mar, 3. May, 4. June, 5. July, 6. August, 7. October, 8. November
(click the links above to see each individual layout).
I will be continuing this in 2011 with an addition. I am choosing one little word for each month too. What I discovered last year is that I needed to focus on different things depending on the month: what was going on, what needed to be done, as well as what was (or not) accomplished the month before. So this year I will be choosing a separate word for each month, one that relates to, and will help me to thrive.
My word for January is start. It's a pretty obvious one, but since I started the year in a jetlagged daze, I found I really needed to motivate myself to get going. Usually I am gung-ho in January, with all sorts of project ideas, but this year I started things off in a sluggish mood and needed to remind myself to get going!
You may have noticed that I used quotations including the word start in the last three Sunday Somethings. All part of my plan to keep my current word in the forefront.
This month I want to start:
dreaming
planning
doing
creating
exercising
de-cluttering
photgraphing
thriving

So, start. That's it for January. Just getting started on the journey of 2011.
