What Does Home Mean to You?

As I sat contemplating this months theme of home, I began to think of just what home means to me.  After some time I came to the realization that when it comes right down to it home is really not a place or physical structure but home really is a feeling. I decided to list some of things that home means to me and create something that I could display.

Home is:

Familiar smells

A lived in look

Cozy feeling on a cold wet day

Not a place, it is a feeling

Books on a bedside table

The warmth of a loved ones arms

Snuggling under a warm comforter with hubby

The smell of freshly brewed coffee on a weekend

Photos, plants, knick-knacks

Memories

Heading Home for November

Home. The word elicits varying emotions from all of us. What does home mean to you? What are the sights, sounds, tastes and scents, that make you know you are home? That's the theme we're exploring this month, just in time for Thanksgiving in the US, and heading towards Christmas and Hanukkah.

Hello everyone and happy October! Can you believe the year is flying by so fast? It seems like I barely got a chance to wear my flip flops, and now I need to dig out my sweaters! In honour of the change of seasons our theme for this month is Fall. However feel free to interpret that any way you wish! Falling for you, A Big Fall, or a seasonal meaning.

Learning...

...to enjoy the simple things life has to offer.

My layout for this month's theme - learn, talks about how I am learning to slow down and take time to enjoy the simple things life has to offer.

 

The journaling (which is hidden under the journal tag) talks about the walk that Sheldon and I took through Providence just taking photos and enjoying each others company and ending our afternoon with a nice early dinner.  The photo strips were created using the contact sheet function in Photoshop, a trick I learned from my awesome sister Francine.  I have to give all credit for the photos to Sheldon.
