I love love love notebooks and journals of any sort. I love to buy them and stack them up and admire how lovely they look. I also love not writing in them but that's another story! Lately, what I've also been loving is making my own. I make them faster than I can fill them!
My two binding methods of choice recently have been either machine stitching or spiral binding.
This book which is covered with some much loved and hoarded K&CO papers has inner pages stitched together, then stuck into the chipboard scroll shaped cover.
These simple stitched books are made from notebook paper, kraft cardstock and have a simple stamped design.
You can read more about how I made them over on the Banana Frog blog.
I saw this neat spiral binding on a couple of French scrappers' blogs, with the binding through the cover, and had to figure out how to do it myself!
This is my current art journal, although so far I have only used one page. I am trying to do quick art journaling sessions, like 10 minutes, but even that amount of time is hard to find lately. Oh, I'll post a tutorial on how to make a book like this soon! Update: The tutorial is now live!
Another couple of stitched books:
That's one of my chalkboard labels on there. The image is stamped with white pigment ink.
This "Today" book is actually being used - it's my latest attempt to stay on top of my daily tasks. I designed some daily To Do pages that seem to be working so far. More on that soon too.
Are you like me? Do you love notebooks but only hoard them? What are you saving them for? Your "best" work?
UPDATE! Spiral bound notebooks and stitched jotters are now available in my shop on Etsy
