We had a pretty laid back Easter weekend. We're not particularly religious, (ok, we're not at all religious), but my mother-in-law can't let Easter pass without giving us chocolate, and I got a bee in my bonnet about making Kieran a crochet chicken pillow so he ended up getting an Easter basket with a few goodies.
My mother-in-law doesn't do the chocolate thing by halves, we get HUGE eggs!
Another one......
And where there are eggs there must be a chicken right?
In his Easter basket were the chicken pillow, a gardening set, markers and "real" scissors.
Except that Kieran thinks it's an owl. He has his own way of seeing the world!
Owl or chicken, he seems to like him
Meanwhile, the adults were enjoying these....
The day after Easter Sunday is a holiday here so we continued the fun with some egg dyeing.
and egg decorating
I had the idea to use quail eggs too, since I thought Kieran would have fun with tiny eggs. They came out really nicely!
Luckily I got this photo early on, because by the end of the session all the colours had been mixed together and the eggs got re-dipped in brown dye!
This is the first time we have done Easter egg dyeing with him, and I think it will be a new tradition!
I hope you had a Happy Easter too!
