Happily installed in its new spot, and holding my wood mounted stamps:
I have a few in progress photos from spray painting the metal three-tier basket.
I rigged up a spray paint closet using a cardboard box. I figured that since the basket had lots of open spaces, paint would go every where. I was right!
At the end I did take it out of the box to do some touch-up work, and make sure all the sides were painted.
Lessons learned:
1. As I mentioned last week I plan to give it another coat as soon as I get to the hardware store for some more paint. I think I could have avoided this problem by doing a base coat first. That grey metal was darker than I thought.
2. Try to avoid spray painting on a windy day!
3. Wear rubber gloves and if possible a face mask. I had to take lots of breaks so as not to be constantly inhaling the paint.
4. Always buy more paint than you think you will need.
Do you have any spray painting tips to add?
P.S. Coming up next week: Kieran's little house!
